Howard Olansky, famed Editor and Publisher of ICS magazine, said this from the speaker's platform at a convention back in the '70s. "Bill Bane is one of the best carpet cleaners in the world." Of course "Humble Howie" would say something like that just to be nice to me, so I took it with a grain of salt.
Last February I was thinking about having the carpet cleaned at our Florida home and "Humble Howie's" words came to mind. In a moment of temporary insanity, I decided to get a little portable carpet cleaning machine and do it myself. To sum up, it's not the '70s, it wasn't a Bane-Clene unit and I'm 35 years older.
My apologies to all of you professional cleaners. I should have gone to our web site and contacted a local cleaner to do the job. That's the last time I'll ever do that even if I live long enough for the carpet to get dirty again.
