No one likes to be ignored. Your employees need your attention for various reasons. How can you provide the attention they need which will make them feel better and work better? By noticing the work they do and complimenting them on improvement or continued good work. Also by pointing out to them how important they are to the company. Conversely, by noticing work that is not up to company standards and offering help to improve their work. By occasionally engaging them in conversations about their life, families and interests. By asking them to express their opinions and ideas about work situations they are familiar with. Finally and possibly most important is to listen when they bring up a personal problem. Often times you may not be able to help. However, just by the fact you are listening, you are letting them know they are not ignored.
