What is success? Common definitions are: “the accomplishment of an aim, goal or purpose” and or “the good outcome of an undertaking by engaging in a certain tactic or position”. Success has many ways to be achieved and described. To different people it has different meanings or levels. To a business owner, it is the setting of a long range goal and striving to achieve it by working on it consistently. To a manager, it is realizing when you have people who know their jobs and assignments and are willing to take responsibility for those and you “stand aside” and let them accomplish those tasks. To an employee, it is striving to work hard and therefore achieve a job well done and the satisfaction that brings. For all of us, it is important to know what we ultimately want and to take the short range and ultimately long range steps to attain success.
