Many bosses, managers or supervisors have this idea that they have to do all the thinking. Too often, they feel that those that work for them are just supposed to do what they are told. This is a very impractical idea, it is one that wastes creative thinking, practical experience and will ultimately affect morale. If a boss is tackling an issue of which they are not completely familiar or lack hands-on experience, then asking questions or opinions of their employees is good thinking. Most workers will gladly provide input and suggestions. This has the multiple effect of making the employee feel appreciated and giving the boss alternative ideas. The boss should listen, think it over and then move forward. Listening to your employees is an ideal way to stimulate your own thinking. SACRIFICE

The prosperity of future generations depends on the sacrifice made by the current generation. What has been done for generations before us is the opening of eyes to possibilities and the potential to build a strong economy and therefore a strong nation. None of this is free and obviously without sacrifice. Each generation has plotted and planned and laid a ground work that current and future generations could benefit from. HOW WE FEEL

At times we can become down or unhappy. How we feel about ourselves is extremely important. The better that feeling the easier it will be to propel us through any down times. Here are a few ways to do that. Focus on your good qualities whether it be generosity, loyalty, honesty or other traits. Face any problems head on, do not allow them to fester or control you. Look for the good qualities in others not their faults. Ultimately, it will allow you to feel better about yourself. Be tolerant of others, remember they have to be tolerant of you. MOTIVATION

Motivation is a powerful tool, it can be positive or it can be negative. Many refer to this motivation as the “Carrot and Stick”. The carrot is a reward for doing good. The stick is the consequence for not doing well. It motivates people by creating actionable goals and desirable rewards when jobs are done well. Conversely there are repercussions if jobs are not done well. But in the long run, positive Motivation will normally produce the desired results. So how does one provide that Motivation to employees? Basically this is done by providing these wants and desires. Economic stability. Employees should feel that their time and effort is fairly compensated. Emotional stability. Management should create an atmosphere in which employees feel that their jobs contribute to the goal of the company. Recognition. Everyone wants to feel appreciated and praised for a job well done. Self-Expression. Employees should feel that they can communicate ideas or concerns to management and that they will be listened to. Self-respect. Simply put, employees feel that they are part of the company not just a tool. Positive Motivation in the long run will produce the desired results and therefore more success and better profits for the company. INDEPENDENCE DAY

Obviously Independence Day, the Fourth of July, is the day the United States commemorates its Declaration of Independence. The Continental Congress declared that the thirteen American colonies were no longer subject and subordinate to the monarch of Britain and were now united, free and independent states. This day historically has been marked by various activities. Among them parades, celebrations, baseball games, reunions and firework displays. Much has transpired over the past couple of years and these events continue to affect our daily lives. Some, if not all of these aforementioned activities, are once again being enjoyed although unfortunately some may still not take place. We continue to face trying and abnormal times, times that continue to challenge the very fabric of America. We should not forget this fact, that this day marked the beginning of a long and bloody conflict to gain the Independence that our founding Fathers felt was so very important. It is what became the American Way of Life and what was so eloquently stated in The Constitution. The fact that not everyone agrees with what everyone else says is what makes America great. The fact that we are free to disagree, the fact that we are free to voice our opinion and the fact that we are free to live our lives as we see fit. As long as we do so with honor and respect of all others and within the confines of the law. So as you participate in whatever you have planned for this day, take a moment to be thankful for what you have and the fact that you live in The United States of America. God Bless America!!
